Alex East
Alex East (Eastie)
He may not look it, but Alex East has been in the radio industry for over 25 years (It's amazing what you can do with PhotoShop).
He started out as a very young boy, as so many do, in Hospital radio and DJing in his local pub , where the inaugural Eastie's Pub Quiz began.
He then moved to Spain and began to play his trade in the pubs and clubs of Mallorca, eventually being allowed back into England.
After a few more years in England fulfilled a life-long ambition to get marrie and settle down in California (In The USA, in case you were wondering).
Once he had settled down in America he was approached to present the Drive-time show on a Spanish speaking staion back in Mallorca. After a couple of years of doing this and doubling the station's audience he also began presenting a Saturday night dance music show (Vamos a Bailar) which attracted a whole new audience to the station.
Alex then hit on the idea of creating a radio version of the Pub Quiz he used to present back in his home town and Eastie's Pub Quiz was born.
Apart from radio he also lists among his credits:
- The Voice of villain, Ian McClusky on the video game SubSurface
- Voice tracking for various radio stations
- Voice-overs for advertisments such as The Giving Circle
- Books on tape (Roald Dahl's The BFG)
He currently produces Eastie's Pub Quiz, It's Only Rock 'n' Roll and Eastie's Pick 'n' Mix (For Atlantis FM)
